Karlsteen, Arvid: Arvid (Arfvid) Karlsteen (1647-1718) was a highly esteemed Swedish medallist. He studied in Paris under Warin and in London under John Roettier, his style approaching more closely that of Roettier. When he returned to his native Sweden, he was appointed Court-medallist, and in 1692 he was placed in the rank of the nobility. He executed a series of medals of the Kings of Sweden from Gustavus I to Charles XII.
